The story of Bang Bang begins with a deadly Indian terrorist Omar Zafar (Danny), who is to be extradited to India, escaping from a British prison with the help of his aide Hamid Gul (Javed Jaffery), burning up the ISS (Indian Secret Service) agent Viren Nanda (Jimmy Shergill) alive, while executing the escape plan. Hrithik plays a jewel thief, who carries out a daring theft of the great Kohinoor diamond, while Katrina plays his love interest, Harleen, who is a simple bank receptionist from Shimla, in search of her true love. A chase ensues between Rajveer and the ISS men, with Harleen by his side all the time. Later, it is revealed that Rajveer is actually Jai, the brother of officer Viren and he is doing this to learn the truth about his death. In the end, Rajveer is able to eliminate all the gangsters and avenge the death of his brother.
Despite the movie being greatly hyped before its release, it has turned out to be a loud and exhausting one, unable to live up to the expectations of the audience. The story and screenplay of the movie has received open criticism, while the performances and action have been acclaimed, leading to mixed reactions. Though the film abounds in charm of foreign locales and chemistry between the lead pair, it fails on every other front. It is more like a senseless flick, with a huge sum of money spent on polishing it.
